Theatre Giveaway: “Spark” At Adventure Stage Chicago!

Friends, because I super like both you and Chicago’s beyond-wonderful theatre scene, I’m thrilled to offer up TWO sets of four passes to a brand spankin’ new show at Adventure Stage Chicago, over at West Town’s Vittum Theater.

So here’s the deal: Spark, Chapter One of the Prometheus Project, is part of a new work which re-imagines the myths of Prometheus and Pandora. Chapter One concerns Pandora and her secluded life within the underground Sanctuary, a haven built to keep folks safe from the raging violence outside and the Outliers- her community’s sworn enemy. It’s only when Pandora meets two of these Outliers that she realizes all may not be as it seems, and that she needs to make some hard decisions about fear and truth.

This futuristic production promises to be visually stunning, using projections simulating the texting and gaming which is so prevalent in Sanctuary’s culture. Got some tweens who could relate? They’re in luck- this one’s recommended for ages 9 and up. (And Spanish-speaking audience members: every performance features Spanish supertitles.)

Here’s why else I’m stoked to help promote this show; The Prometheus Project grew organically from story circles between ASC’s Producing Artistic Director (and Spark’s playwright) Tom Arvetis, Spark’s director Rives Collins, and Chicago middle schools. Using the Greek myth of Prometheus as a jumping-off point, these circles discussed the all-too modern issues of power, violence, hope, and the challenges facing our youths- from there Spark was sparked.

Wanna see it? YOU ARE IN LUCK. I’ve got two family four-packs of tix to give away to Spark’s press opening on Saturday, April 12th at 4pm. (And, uh, I define “family” quite loosely. Maybe I should say “tickets for you and three other awesome theatergoers?”) So yes. Eight tix for the premiere (which includes post-show food, drink, and games), divvied between two winners. And the winnin’ is easy, folks- just complete one or more of the entries in the super user-friendly Rafflecopter below. (Just a note: I am gonna be checking entries, so no cheatsies, yeah?)

That said, I want YOU to win. (Yep, I’m making eye contact with you. By the way, hi! How’s that thing going that we talked about before? Oh, no worries- answer me later. Go enter with the Rafflecopter.)

I am so excited for you already.
