Tapping Out.

This is a post to let people know that I’m not writing a post today. I’m tapping out, tagging a buddy, and essentially waiting for a be-Spandexed wrestler to climb through the ropes and take her place at my laptop.

Let me explain.

I found myself fantasizing about taking a “mental health day,” a term that friends with out-of-the-house jobs bandy around (and subsequently make me froth at the mouth with envy/improperly rinsed toothpaste). But when I realized that I could say I was taking a mental health day all I wanted- but that nothing would particularly cease ’round here- I decided to go for baby steps.

Literal baby steps.
Or baby sleeping. ‘Cause we tiiired over here.

So no. While I cannot take a mental health day today from cooking, laundry, potty-training, child wrangling, or preventing chess pieces from being poked into eyeballs, I can take the day off from writing.

Except not as concerns returning emails from editors or folks who actually wish to pay me.

But blogging? YES. Take that, blogging, I quit you for the day. (But will be checking in via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and anything else which beeps and pings throughout the day and night.) Ha HA.

Nothing’s particularly wrong with me- far from it. I just reached a point last night (or, let’s be honest- around 2pm) where I decided that my brain space was full to bustin’ and my glazed-over thousand yard stare wasn’t inspiring my kids to any great heights. Therefore, no post.

And I just wrote a post about it.

You win this round, Blogging, you sneaky minx.

Have a good weekend, friends.

(Holy schnitzel, it’s still only Thursday morning, isn’t it?)
