Where Did All These Kids Come From?

One of my favorite human beings on the planet- one Annie G. (now M.)- visited from California this past weekend. And it was so good to have her back in town because a) we’ve celebrated so many 25th birthdays together and it’s hard to find people who experiences life quite as similarly as I do, and b) she brought her son with her. My godson. (Okay, P.J.’s too.) Who just so happens to be a smallish version of one of my favorite human beings on the planet, making him pretty spectacular in his own right.

Plus, our kids finally got to play.

We did all sorts of debaucherous things, just as we used to back in the day.

Like, we fell asleep at 9:30pm.

And went to the park. By the way, this is what it would look like if she had twins. A few months apart.

Okay, we indulged in some of the same behavior as we used to.

We saw some fantastic theatre. (Guys, see this show over at Berger Park. Hell In A Handbag is wonderful and their take on The Birds is ridic funny.)

We went out for “one drink.”

And we started my new favorite tradition of pulling easy chairs into the kitchen to watch Netflix because there was a child sleeping in virtually every other room in the house.

The picture is blurry because P.J. has been drinking.

There’s no question that some friendships transcend time zones and lifestyle changes.

There’s no question how much I still adore this Annie girl.

So now the only question is…

Why do they have to go back home?
