We had a road trip this weekend.
Or rather, the road trip had us. In numbers:
17- the hours of drive time
1- the hourly span between each of the first three rest stops
49- grade, out of 100, that we rated the West Virgina Hampton Inn where we spent one overnight
45- minutes spent looking for the crib said Hampton Inn promised would be in our room
(2- times we checked on the availability of the crib prior to our arrival)
11- time Susannah finally conked out
12- time Nora finally conked out
12, 3, 6- times Jasper finally conked out
(80- coffees consumed on Sunday)
Do not believe them.
16- number of times we were called “Honey” at various fast food establishments and gas stations by people younger than us (the South is crazy)
25- family members spending the week together in North Carolina
3- cases of wine
900- kisses Jasper has received thus far
1- 70th birthday we’re celebrating
60- average temperature at the beach house
100- percent that it doesn’t bother us at all
