RoundUp: Eat, Play, Create (And Read).

Oh, Wednesday.

Today’s round-up is devoted to stuff you should be reading (especially if you’re my Dad and have a holymolylong wait during chemo), and doing (especially if you’re a Chicagoan who likes stuff).

Things I Failed To Promote While Pimping My Book (Go Buy It)

There. I Just Saved Your Summer, Chicagoans

Remember when I had that terrific meal at Hashbrowns in Old Town? WELL. They’re such wonderful people that they offered this exclusive deal for Lollygag Blog readers: for the next 3 weeks (until July 18th!), anyone who orders an adult breakfast or lunch entree will receive a free kiddo breakfast or lunch entree. (Beverages or sides are a la carte.) Got two kids with two adults? Boom- two free kid meals. Three kids with three adults? Your miniature trio eats for free. (How incredibly awesome is this?) Just mention Lollygag Blog to your server (it’s easy- I do it all the time) and kindly limit this promotion to one per person. Seriously, you guys. I love this place. Head over to 1155 N. Wells, Chicago, and go say hi for me. (And get me a breakfast burrito, please.)

Hit the road.

Last summer’s Museum of Science & Industry Summer Brain Games (designed to prevent summer brain drain) is back again! It’s still completely free, and features a fun summer science carnival theme. These eight weeks of projects are so cool- we had a blast doing them last summer and will definitely be doing so again. Go register here for absolutely free– and best of all? Each registrant gets a free pass to the MSI. Come ON, people. That is ridiculously great.

Lifeline Theatre– one of my absolute faves- is featuring weeklong day camps for kiddos this summer. Next up is the one for 7-12 year olds, beginning Monday July 7th, and is all about adapting children’s books to stage plays (and then performing them)!! Teamwork, confidence, self-expression- what else could you want in a summer camp experience? (I totally wish I could go. And you can bet your ticket stub that I’ll be enrolling Nora in the 5-6 year old camp next summer.) Go here to sign ’em up!

AND AND AND…

The e-book version of Expecting: A Year Of Fixing Up And Breaking Down is coming super soon. You will know THE SECOND that I know.

Seriously. I may text you at like 2am. Because I care/stalk that much.

No need to thank me.

It’s unspoken.
