It’s Wednesday! Which means…pretty much the same thing it means every other weekday ’round here! (Plus a round-up!)
…And then the tree stand broke and we propped it with furniture and we laughed and laughed.
Here’s what I’ve been up to lately, outside of this blog. (I mean, scroll down for those things afterwards, too. But these are the people who enjoy paying me, and from whom I enjoy payment.)
- My column for this month’s Moms in the Mix at 101.9FM is all about how to fake- um- celebrate the whole Santa visit.
- Looking for holiday awesomeness around Chicagoland? How about this round-up I helped pen for the Chicago Tribune?
- Nora and I saw The Grinch at The Chicago Theatre. And guess what? We LOVED The Grinch at The Chicago Theatre.
- Remember how I wrote a gazillion articles for a new print mag here in town? Now you can see the whole shebang online, too.
- The kids and I recently spent a day at Bubbles Academy; taking classes, spinning in circles, and pretty much not wanting to leave, ever.
Is your kid an amazing cook? Actually, if so, send ’em here. But then after that, how about attending an audition for FOX’s MasterChef Junior? Chicago auditions for pint-sized Emerils and Rachael Rays (ages 8-13) are being held this Saturday, December 6th, from 9am-5pm at the Mag Mile’s Hyatt (633 N. St. Clair, Chi). All the deets here. I adore Redmoon and their theatrical craziness. I adore them. And Friday, December 12th is the opening of their family-friendly Winter Pageant, which completely redefines “spectacle.” This production (at their space located at 2010 S. Jefferson St., Chi) is based on the concept of a “grand love,” and explores the four seasons of the human heart- and much of the inspiration of this show originated with Chicagoans’ real life stories. Oh, and did I mention the aerialists, dancers, teen choir, handmade puppets, and one man and ten instrument band? Go see this show. GO SEE THIS SHOW.
