RoundUp: Chicago Things, Print Things & Adorable Things.

Ah, the round up. It’s actually a collection of things I’ve written, things on which I’ve collaborated, and things I dig oh-so much. So, really, it should just be called “things.”

Things:

One of my articles from the inaugural issue of Hey Baby Chicago got republished on Chicago Parent, and it’s pretty much the only advice you’ll need about bed rest, ever. (Ever.)

There’s this great web series called Millennial Parents (seriously great, seriously short), and I had the supra-fun honor of interviewing the creators in what could easily have become a 4000 word article. (Don’t fear for your eyeballs, it was edited down.)

Oh, Netflix, how I love thee. And how thee- er, you- are saving my late January feelings of Januarydom. (Now with 100% more animal hero shows!)

January= desperate box boat measures.

Years of freelancing about parenting and lifestyle stuff and trying to pay my dues as a playwright just earned me my first solo byline for the Chicago Tribune writing about…football. (Locals, keep an eye out for this Sunday’s print version- it’ll be in the Life & Style section!)

Nora is my little cover model now. My editors at Chicago Parent magazine shared a preview of the upcoming issue– and my daughter in her happy, happy, happy place.

The mag cover made the morning news as well! (The pic is at minute 5, but the whole segment- on Chicago hotel staycations- is pretty fantastic, too.)

P.J. left me forever. (For a week.) I think he was testing me. Too bad he didn’t know I completely disregard tests. (I don’t know where I’m going with this, but it’s 100% true.)

And part 2 of our great escape to Las Vegas! (I’m still not all back yet.)

Finally, you might notice the new Facebook comment box right below this post. (No, really, it’s just a little below this sentence. Right there.) It’s not replacing the regular ol’ comments, nor will it replace the warm n’ fuzzies I get from knowing you’ve just read the post (so if either of those floats your boat- row, row, row). What it will do, however, is provide a ridiculously easy way to comment, since you know and I know that we’re all also logged into Facebook at this moment in time. And, if you felt so obliged, it’s a cinchy way for you to share your thoughts and feelings with me- someone who shares thoughts and feelings willy-nilly, regardless of comment box platform.

Some of us are just givers, I guess.

Happy Facebook- er, Wednesday.

Facebook.
