Selfies, 2k For Your Community & Huggies’ #UltraHug.

Friends, Huggies is giving communities the chance to do something great. They’re donating $2,000 to a local cause– and the cause they fund could totally be yours. So to that end, it could totally be mine, right?

As in- my community. Our cause. Have I told you about my particular Chicago neighborhood before? (Pretty sure I have.) I claim the bordering ‘hoods of Irving Park and Albany Park as my very own (which yes, is something that I’m allowed to do). We’ve got green space for, quite literally, miles. This place boasts easily the best food for miles and zip codes: Armenian, Lebanese and Turkish (there is a distinction), Thai, Filipino, (and Southern BBQ via the Philippines), Serbian, Mexican, Colombian, old school Italian and, uh, American diner excellence. (That’s not even including the places to grab a drink around here. Or, given the multitude of craft brew pubs and the like, the places where a drink could grab you.) And, like so many of the other 70+ Chicago neighborhoods, it’s an utterly walkable place (unless you feel like taking the Brown Line or gazillion buses), just perfect for the young families, longtime residents, and college students who call this area home. But unlike other awesome Chicago communities, up until last summer we were missing an outdoor market. A place to grab a cup of coffee, walk your dog, dance to local musicians, buy fancy cheese, eat organic fruit, support Illinois (and Wisconsin and Michigan!) farmers, and be together in our neighborhood out of doors in the fresh air because ohmyGod it’s no longer winter.

Last July, the Horner Park Farmer’s Market was born. And it was so great, you guys. But it’s still so new, and needs help to do all the great stuff it set out to do, like support environmentally sound and sustainable agriculture, foster communication between growers and buyers, strengthen community- and make sure everyone’s having a really great time while doing so.

So I choose them. And in doing so, I’m also kinda choosing the neighborhood where my kids will want to come back to raise their own families.

Okay, so now it’s your turn! Who deserves your 2k? Through June 25th, snap a selfie of you and your littles for the chance to donate moolah in your community! Click here for full details…and pleasepleaseplease, when you upload those amazing pix to Instagram and Twitter, don’t forget to use the hashtag #UltraHug! It’s so easy, so fun…

…and so flipping cute.

While we’re on the subject of Huggies, make sure to check out their new Snug & Dry Ultra Diapers, only at Walmart. Why? Because they feature a Leak Lock and up to 12 hours of protection. And I know you like that kind of thing.
