Hidden Garden wants to mail you delightful cookies.

Disclosure: This a product review for Hidden Garden Foods and I was compensated with deliciousness, but all thoughts, opinions, and ginger snap crumbs are entirely my own.

Cookies. COOKIES. Who wants cookies?!

(I swear to goodness, sometimes my job is stupidly easy.)

When the good people at Hidden Garden reached out to me and asked if they could send me some cookies to try, I immediately said yes. When they informed me that the gluten-free, nut-free, all natural cookies all had secret veggies as main ingredients, I immediately said…yep, as long as they’re still cookies.

And let me tell you about these cookies.

There are currently four kinds: chocolate chip (with pumpkin), ginger snap (with butternut squash), red velvet (with beets), and cocoa cherry (with spinach). The company was started by a Mom who- shockingly- had kids averse to eating vegetables. Hence- the cookies. Produced and shipped from one location in Burnaby, British Columbia, these goodies are certified gluten-free and yes, even produced in a nut-free facility. They’re enjoyed all over North America (and are newly at Sprouts stores!) but you can win some from me right now at this very moment for your snacky enjoyment.

And will you enjoy them?

Yes.

Oh my word, so much yes.

The chocolate chip ones- well, the ones I could get my hands on- were a superbly satisfying cookie. The ginger snap is so full of buttery, gingery goodness (and is probably my favorite ginger snap ever, even including ones sans secret squash). The red velvet is light and sweet- and if you’re waiting for that crazy strong “beet” flavor (<—first time I’ve ever typed that phrase), you’ll be waiting a long time. And the cocoa cherry? They are sheer wonderfulness in cookie form. And, through some magic, each serving contains roughly 1/4- 1/2 cup of vegetables. (Which totally beats the five frozen peas I just gave Jasper for lunch.)

But Keely, I can hear you saying. You like vegetables. You’re a grownup (mostly). What about your 2, 4, and 6 year-olds? Were they on the “surprise veggie” train?

They were on me like I was glittering the kitchen with Pixy Stix. I asked each of them what their favorite kind was:

Nora- Cocoa cherry and red velvet.

Susannah- Ginger snap. And which one does Nora have?

Jasper- Yes. (Cooooookie.)
