My Sister Got Married And All I Got…

(…was this lousy pair of sunglasses. Actually, I like the shades quite a bit.)

Over the weekend, my youngest sister Emma and her fiancé Dan got married.

Here’s why it was special: Originally intended for May of 2015, this ceremony was quickly whipped into shape by dear family and friends (and family friends) so that neither chemo nor cancer could stand in the way of our Dad walking Em down the aisle.

Here’s why it was cool: The small group of friends who dropped everything to come celebrate were a ridiculous delight to see, and every last one of them were hug-worthy revelers of the highest order.

Here’s why it was a weekend clearly involving the Flynn sisters:

Why am I stuck with the Elton John shades?

And I won’t yet post photos, because it’s a time-honored tradition to let the bride post the full-dress, first-dance, and pie-eating pictures (I think Emily Post made that rule)- but, come on. That picture of the bachelorette party? That’s all you really need to know about the amount of fun and love present in Boston last weekend.

Okay, maybe you should also know that our newest brother Dan is a wonderful guy, deserving of all the happiness in the world (while he’s facilitating a goodly bit of Emily’s happiness in the world), and I wish them a hundred more years together. And as long as it involves the same group of wedding-goers, I’ll be there to celebrate that one, too.

Especially if it involves more of that pie.
