7 Years of Lollygag Blog- and a Giveaway!

Today, my blog is a seven year-old! That’s right, my blog can now read Encyclopedia Browns and Choose Your Own Adventures while still retaining the not-quite-a-tween-yet sweetness that I can cling to for just a tad longer. To celebrate, we could’ve gone to Chuck E. Cheese’s, but no- I’m giving away a copy of my book, Expecting: A Year of Fixing Up and Breaking Down. (Less cleanup and sugar crashing involved. You’re welcome.)   But first, a quick look back {Read More}

RoundUp: Chicago Things, Print Things & Adorable Things.

Ah, the round up. It’s actually a collection of things I’ve written, things on which I’ve collaborated, and things I dig oh-so much. So, really, it should just be called “things.” Things: One of my articles from the inaugural issue of Hey Baby Chicago got republished on Chicago Parent, and it’s pretty much the only advice you’ll need about bed rest, ever. (Ever.) There’s this great web series called Millennial Parents (seriously great, seriously short), and I had the supra-fun {Read More}

RoundUp: Outdoor Activities & Cozy Fun.

Friends! You’d think that, after such a long blogging break like I just took (you were aware that I took a blog break, right? Say yes), I wouldn’t have a heck of a lot to post for a round-up. But I do. Because= internet. Here’s what I’ve been up to: Well, first off, I went to Las Vegas. Here’s Part 1 of the wild n’ crazy, what happens in Vegas gets blogged about the following Monday. (Part 2 goes live {Read More}

A RoundUp, A #StreamTeam Giveaway & Chicago Greatness.

It’s Wednesday! Which means…pretty much the same thing it means every other weekday ’round here! (Plus a round-up!) Here’s what I’ve been up to lately, outside of this blog. (I mean, scroll down for those things afterwards, too. But these are the people who enjoy paying me, and from whom I enjoy payment.) My column for this month’s Moms in the Mix at 101.9FM is all about how to fake- um- celebrate the whole Santa visit. Looking for holiday awesomeness {Read More}

RoundUp: A 5th Birthday, Way Too Much Theatre & A Roasted Pig.

The biggest news of the day: my firstborn kid, Miss Nora Jane, IS NOW FIVE YEARS OF AGE. Making me…a little over 29. (And don’t worry, she’ll get her own dedicated post tomorrow. I know the rules of how things work ’round here.) Everything else kinda pales into comparison to that time my kid was suddenly in the world, but if I must… Stuff That I Did That Wasn’t As Great As Giving Birth For The First Time Ever: P.J. {Read More}

RoundUp: Halloween Fun, A Made-Up Word & I’m In Print!

Oh, this past week. It’s been a week, this week. And yes, I realize that it’s only Wednesday. Stuff I Did While Pretending It Was Already Friday Evening: Remember when I questioned Susannah’s DNA– but only slightly and in joking conversation? Well, I one-upped myself in creepiness and painted her hair and face. NOW it all makes sense. My daughters are already better swimmers than me. And they’re 3 and not-yet 5. I interviewed a kindie rocker superstar and the {Read More}

Round Up: This One’s For Fans of Susannah And Awesome Dogs.

Oh, Wednesday. I cannot get the hang of you. This morning I did- quite possibly- the Wednesday-est thing ever and misspelled my own children’s last name. You know, the one that’s also mine? Oh, the hilarity. Especially when I jokingly explained that I rarely mess up my own kids’ names…and was met with dead eyes. Wednesday, you big jerk. Onward! Here’s what I did this past week. No worries if you’ve yet to catch up- I mean, it’s not like {Read More}

A RoundUp Of Chicago Fun, New Theatre, And- Ooh, Shiny!

The temps have been wonderfully summer-like this past week (which jives completely well with the past summer’s spring-like conditions), so I’ll totally understand if you haven’t caught up on your blog reading. But the time has come. I’m totally kidding. But just in case, here’s the rundown: Last week I smashed my car into my friend’s car. In the preschool pickup lane. And it totally wasn’t the awfulest thing my anxiety-ridden brain was unable to overcome at ALL. Sometimes I {Read More}
